One at either Glacier Nat'l Park in West Glacier, MT OR Grand Teton Nat'l Park in Moose, WY
One at either Grand Canyon Nat'l Park in Grand Canyon, AZ OR Saguaro Nat'l Park in Tucson, AZ
In order to be considered for any, or all locations, please ensure desired locations are selected. Determination of duty location will be made at the time of selection for each park group.
The incumbent provides administrative assistance to the park group.
Duties
Provides administrative, operational, and technical support functions in support of fire management activities.
Manages budget programming for multiple fund sources contributing to the fire program, understands and interprets interagency and agency policy as well as national and regional financial business rules for appropriate charging of funds.
Fluent in various automated financial systems, processes procurement functions for the branch.
Assists Fire Management Officer in preparation of annual fire budget requests using automated/electronic systems.
Serves as the subject matter expert in emergency incident administrative procedures, providing correct interpretation and application of incident time, travel, procurement, and cost tracking procedures.
Manages Incident Qualification and Certification System database for multiple National Park Service first responders.
Creates and updates qualification records, inputs annual training, instructor, and incident experience.
Manages and tracks current agency medical clearance determinations for qualified employees.
Regularly works with local and state cooperators.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
- Must be 18 years of age at time of close date of announcement.
- Willing to live/work in remote locations (volatile/unpredictable).
- If you are a new employee in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- You will be required to operate a government motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
- Incumbent will be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
- Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount qualified specialized experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
For the GS-06 level:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service or equivalent.
Examples of specialized experience include: Prepare travel authorizations and vouchers and assisting with making travel arrangements; Prepare correspondence, presentations and reports utilizing software packages such as Microsoft Word; Coordinate and enter time and attendance for staff, following timekeeping procedures, utilizing automated payroll systems; Track and filing documents and correspondence; Order and maintain supplies and equipment for the office.
For the GS-07 level:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent.
Examples of specialized experience include: Assist in the planning and formulating of a budget including preparing budget submissions, annual operating plans, and allocating and transferring funds; Prepare travel authorizations and vouchers and assist with making travel arrangements; Prepare correspondence, presentations and reports utilizing software packages such as Microsoft Word; Coordinate and enter time and attendance for staff following timekeeping procedures utilizing automated payroll systems; Track and file documents and correspondence; Order and maintain supplies and equipment for the office.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
