Serve as the Program Specialist Supervisor by providing supervision, quality oversight and monitoring functions of Non-VA Care (NVC) Services that include Contract Nursing Homes, Home Respite Program, Homemaker and Home Health Aide Programs which include financial analysis, programmatic oversight of the GEC Service, provider contract development and contract maintenance, information management, performance of clinical/financial feasibility studies, and support in strategic planning efforts.
Duties
Directly responsible for developing performance plans and evaluating the performance of his/her subordinates.
Interact directly with clinical staff and clinical leadership regarding the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Program and contributes to the evaluation of clinical involvement with Community Programs and Choice issues.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Geriatrics and Extended Care/Non VA Care (NVC), Medical Foster Home and Community Care Programs.
Responsible for provider contract development and contract maintenance as they pertain to GEC Service, Choice Law, NVCC, and individual provider contracts.
Review the accuracy and adequacy of current financial, costing, and managerial reports.
Assist in the development of improved automated, computerized managerial reports and reporting techniques.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/01/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: analyzing and resolving problems to include making recommendations for improvement regarding staffing, effectiveness, and efficiency of program activities; determining the best methods, tools, and processes for developing and implementing a health care program; improving productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in program operations and/or administrative support activities.

Physical Requirements: Work is mostly sedentary; however, there will be some periods of walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, and carrying boxes of records as required. Occasionally Veterans may be angry and potentially violent. The incumbent is required to work on a computer for long periods of time. Extensive use of the telephone may be required.
