The Office of Government and Industry Affairs (AGI) is the principal advisor to the Administrator and FAA Lines of Business/Staff Offices on all matters concerning Congress, aviation industry groups, and other governmental organizations. AGI serves as the primary point of contact for Members of Congress and congressional staff for all FAA issues and inquiries. The incumbent of this position is the Senior Congressional Liaison Specialist.
Duties
The office also coordinates with the Department of Transportation's Office of Governmental Affairs to ensure the work is consistent with the Department's policies.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
- Occasional travel to domestic locations.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized Experience is defined as:Experience working for a Member of Congress handling issues related to aviation, ORExperience working for a Committee of Congress with oversight over the Federal Aviation Administration, ANDExperience working with managers to solve complex problems with persons inside and outside an organization and to find mutually beneficial solutions.Experience providing guidance and support to employees at lower pay levels or grades.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
