This vacancy is for an IT SPECIALIST (DATA MANAGEMENT) position in the Department of Commerce, Applications Development Services Division, located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other IT SPECIALIST (DATA MANAGEMENT), 2210, 13, FPL GS-13 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Duties
Applies available technologies and principles to adapt computer methods to subject matter situations: CLOUD Database Design Deployment and Configuration: setup and configuring, ensuring availability, reliability, and scalability of the databases.
Integrates hardware, software services to provide integrated information systems: Oracle RAC Database Configuration, patching, setup, backup and recovery, security configuration to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of the databases.
Responds to and resolves problems with software, hardware, and systems management: SQL Server Database Management, Technical Architecture and Network topology
Supports subject matter users by developing or designing applications and in selecting computer equipment: design, develop and configuring database systems to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of the databases.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes Database Administration with hands-on expertise in setup, configuration, security, and support specifically for Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, and Cloud with special focus on AWS and Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS).
