About the Position: Serve as an action officer and subject matter expert in interacting with personnel throughout Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Command, the Army, and DOD on matters pertaining to current and future goals and major education initiatives pertaining to accreditation standards.
Duties
Write policies, pamphlets and publications as directed.
Coordinate and synchronize learning enterprise functions and provide staff support to Commanders and Staff Principals on civilian accreditation standards as it applies to education institutes.
Provide advisory services and develop presentations and briefings to support learning topics.
Assess curriculum, evaluation, assessments, and other processes to ensure it meets the requirement for accreditation standards using the Automated Training Development Capability.
Analyze emerging concepts, strategies and/or technologies and formulates methods for improving resident and non-resident education and training.
Assess feasibility of using educational technology and other advanced methodologies for instructional courses, programs, or projects.
Requirements

Basic Requirement:
Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas:
Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: coordinate and manage policies, programs, and plans that affect the accreditation of accredited schools; establish new programs with centers and schools to advance education effectiveness; and conduct research in order to develop education concepts, goals, objectives, plans, policies, procedures, and guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
