About the Position: Serve as a Food Service Worker for William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Nutrition Care Division, El Paso, Texas.
Duties
Maintain work area in an orderly and sanitary condition and prepares and stores food .
Make correct change.
Operate dishwashing machines and sinks using cleaning agents.
Prepare, wrap, and sell food items.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, serving areas, cooking equipment, utensils and dishware.
Wash shelves, tables, sinks, equipment, and other work areas.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 80 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- This position may require overtime work.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Food Service Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common procedures such as wrap, and sell food items by way of food carts, inventory items, and resupply items during sales. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: The work requires the employee to lift items weighing over 80 pounds; to bend, stoop, push and pull heavy objects; and involves continuous standing, walking and sitting. Must possess good eyesight and coordination for cash register, money handling duties.
Working Conditions: Employee performs work in noisy kitchen and dining room areas and is subject to injuries from equipment used. There is exposure to dirt, grease and water in cleaning tasks and exposure to extremes of temperature in bringing supplies from walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
