About the Position: This position is with the US Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, Transportation Branch, located in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
Duties
Coordinate unit deployments to include movement of personnel and equipment by air, land, rail and sea.
Classify and route freight shipments properly utilizing sound traffic management principles and best value carriers.
Provide guidance on entitlements, and arrange commercial transportation services for individuals and groups traveling CONUS/OCONUS.
Manage the non-tactical vehicle fleet and ensure reimbursement documentation is accurate and submitted to the Budget section in a timely manner.
Participate in teleconferences, working groups and other communications with clear and concise support and customer service of the Transportation Division customers and stakeholders.
Evaluate Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) or contractor performance in moving personal property of Department of Defense personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves responding to inquiries from and providing assistance to various customers, such as commercial carriers, their agents, contractors and component customers/clients; experience in multiple facets of planning, advising and executing unit deployments to include movement of personnel and equipment by air, land, rail and sea; maintaining data on non-tactical vehicle fleet in an automated system; classifying and routing freight shipments and assisting with managing; and providing technical guidance on all facets of transportation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
