This position is located in the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD's) Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Operations (OPS), Federal Facilities Division (FFD), in the Pentagon Building Management Office (PBMO). The PBMO's responsibilities include providing a broad range of support and assistance to Pentagon customers who plan to hold large meetings or other events in the Pentagon or other areas that are under the PBMO's control.

This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L. 116-92 and Section 9905 of Title 5, U.S.C.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Ensures that all aspects of Special Events are organized, coordinated and monitored; that PBMO support is provided in accordance with existing law, Title 32, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 234, WHS procedures and agreements with customers.
Performs as a Contracting Officer Representative and or Contracting Officer Technical Representative for contracts that fall within the assigned program area.
Assists customers in preparing and gaining approval for advance event publicity. Schedules and reserves facilities and services for customer use.
Assists with settlement of events, including ensuring the accuracy of reimbursements levied.
Provides administrative support for the planning, coordination, scheduling, monitoring and inspection of Pentagon special events, ceremonies, displays, exhibits, performances, space assignments to include construction and laydown, special projects, building circulars, and bulletin boards program.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability in: 1) Leading teams responsible for and/or independently, planning, organizing, and coordinating large scale events or meetings; and 2) supporting multiple projects simultaneously while analyzing, recommending and implementing solutions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
PPP PILOT: The Washington Headquarters Service is currently operating under an approved reengineered Priority Placement Program (PPP) pilot for all positions in its serviced workforce.
