This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1528000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.

Duties

As an AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR, GS-1101-11, you will be responsible for the total squadron maintenance program, manages the overall direction of the maintenance effort, and enforces safe maintenance practices. In addition, responsible for identifying, assembling, and managing critical equipment items. Priority is placed on aircraft supporting operational requirements, scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, and aircraft used for maintenance and/or operations training. The focus is on aircraft generation in order to meet mission requirements. Incumbent has maintenance authority on airworthiness of aircraft based on knowledge of aircraft systems and safety of flight concerns. Ensures that a pilot pickup is accomplished for critical parts in order to expedite repairs of Not-Mission-Capable aircraft that receive the highest priority and depends on the critical need for the aircraft and its return to service. May verify Mission Capable (MICAP) requisitions.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADE(S): Officer: O1 thru O4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS11, must have at least 36 months experience, education or training program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the business or industry position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.
