Duties
Provide full range of visual information services for the public and internal audiences of DLA Installation Management.
Serves as technical expert of visual communication methods, techniques, and materials to translate the subject matter into final visual design concepts.
Meets with the Commander, Deputy Commander, and senior management officials to plan and execute complex, highly detailed visual briefings and presentations.
Provides knowledge and software expertise for sophisticated graphics applications.
Serves as photographer for the Installation. Produces quality photographs of desired subject, scene, concept, material, or data, in studio, indoor, outdoor or on location.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Visual Information Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Interpreting a wide range of information into visual aids/designs that best suit the target audience
Advising various personnel on technical advantages/disadvantages of various styles, formats, and deliverables.
Operating a variety of audiovisual, engraving, photographic, reproduction, and graphics production equipment.
Communicating effectively with various personnel. Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
