Duties
This position serves as a Traffic Management Specialist and is the principal advisor to U.S. Coast Guard Base Transportation Officers. Shares best business practices with DOL leadership and CG-44 in the planning and establishment of programs and policies for the administration of the transportation and traffic program consistent with CG Headquarters requirements. Supports the timely movement of personnel and cargo by government or commercial transportation for CG missions and programs.

Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: preparing transportation documents required for the shipment of material/equipment; processing shipments of hazardous materials; applying the principles and practices of Traffic Management; executing payment actions based on carrier performance and services requested; performing pre-audit review of freight transactions for accuracy; researching transportation sources for the shipment of material and equipment.

OR possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

Combination of graduate level education beyond the first 2 years of progressive graduate study and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
