This position is in the Office of the Administrator (AO), Office of Public Engagement and Environmental Education (OPEEE), Office of Public Engagement (OPE). About: AO. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.

Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as developing public engagement or outreach strategies; collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate public engagement or outreach activities; and making recommendations on communications products. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Ability to advise on communication principles, methods, practices, and techniques; 2) Skill in planning public engagement and outreach activities; 3) Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; 4) Skill in problem-solving; 5) Skill in written communication; 6) Skill in project coordination; 7) Skill in message formulation; 8) Ability to build and maintain relationships. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
