The incumbent serves as the Lead Medical Records Technician (Lead Scanner) and is responsible for instructing/training for all scanning personnel for the Colorado River Service Unit. The position reports to the Supervisory Medical Records Administrator.
Duties
Prioritizes work to assure completion of scanning within specified times.
Assists supervisor in the performance, completion and maintenance of accurate medical records and monitors the operation to ensure that medical record availability meets or exceeds acceptable levels.
Instructs/trains all scanning personnel for the service unit and complete assigned administrative duties.
Maintains a daily productivity log of scanning and indexing activities and scanning database maintained.
Protects the confidentiality of customer information, access to computer files and release of access codes, according to established guidelines and policy.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Delineates workflow among scanning specialist schedule, prioritizes work to assure completion of scanning, ensures work is disseminated appropriately and notifies supervisor, maintains and productivity reports, performs daily spot checks on work performance and inform Supervisor of any problems found and submit written documentation.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
