About the position: This position is located at the School Age Center on JBER.
Regular Part-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 20 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Duties
Under the direction of the School Age Program Coordinator assist with developing and implementing program services and a variety of educational and recreational activities that stimulate and sustain the social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of youth. Work with training and curriculum specialists, staff, and volunteers to develop appropriate curriculum packages. Assists in planning and developing special activities, e.g., field trips, special events, and activities for youth with special needs. Provide input on program promotion/publicity and communicate with parents and others through monthly newsletters, parent handbooks, brochures, and presentations. Participate in planning or conducting parent involvement/education activities. Assist in coordinating transportation for program participants. Maintain continuous oversight of all program operations and activities to ensure they comply with DoD, Air Force, and local policies. Complies with all guidelines, and standards. Enforce administrative procedures and operating instructions and maintain continual surveillance over their application to ensure compliance. Inspect the physical environment (indoor and outdoor) of program activities and facilities to ensure they are safe and healthy; space, materials, and equipment ate adequate; and staff/youth interactions are appropriate. Correct deficiencies as required. Assist in required staff agency inspections to ensure they are accomplished and documented. In the absence of the School Age Coordinator, act as Supervisor on Duty and represent the program with customers as well as flight, squadron, group, and installation leadership. Assist the School Age Program Coordinator with administrative matters related to staffing, including but not limited to, scheduling, submitting RP As, assisting with interviews, conducting reference checks, inputting and/or certifying timecards. maintaining personnel folders, conducting, and documenting employee trainings, verifying background checks. employee recognition, Assists in the formulation and execution of budgets. Performs administrative duties to include collecting, preparing, and maintaining written reports. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
BASIC REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 18 years of age and have the ability to speak, read, and write English. Must pass a physical examination and get or have required immunizations . Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers' Certification, and satisfactorily complete installation, State, and National criminal background checks. Must satisfactorily complete mandatory training as specified below and demonstrate competency with required timeframes.
SPECIALIZED: A bachelor of science/art degree that included a major in child or youth development/education or a related field (Le., youth recreation, elementary/early childhood education, physical education (K-6), music education (K-6), art education (K-6 ), human or family services/developmental psychology, social work, guidance and counseling, home economics); or a combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in child or youth development/education or a related field (as described on the preceding page), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
