Duties

You will repair, troubleshoot, and maintain single and multiple fuel power boilers. You will power boilers. You will monitor and test the operation of power boiler systems to identify malfunctions. You will examine, adjust, and as necessary, replace and repair equipment. You will perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical controls.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will frequently lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and occasionally items weighing more with assistance of material lifting devices or other workers.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Installing, maintaining and repairing a variety of complex equipment and systems involving condensing and power/fuel boilers with complicated components, critical requirements and rigid tolerances.
