You will serve as a COMMAND INSPECTOR GENERAL in the FORCE INSPECTOR GENERAL (IG) OFFICE of COMMANDER NAVAL AIR PACIFIC.

Duties

You will direct a segment of an administrative program which involves the development of major aspects of key agency, administrative, regulatory, and highly technical programs as part of the command inspection program. You will manage, plan, and coordinate programs that identify fraud, waste, abuse of power, and other sensitive issues including allegations of contract/procurement fraud, bribery and electronic crimes. You will manage the Hotline Program and familiarity with the Navy Inspector General Hotline Tracking System (NIGHTS). You will serve as the subject matter expert for the Hotline Program, Inspections, Audit Liaison, and is responsible for the Managers' Internal Control Program and annual Statement of Assurance. You will manage and conduct preliminary investigations and must be able to make a determination as to the merits of full investigative inquires. You will perform thorough analysis of unit readiness versus inspection requirements to determine the most efficient exercise and inspection scenarios to minimize costs and maximize unit readiness. You will perform all of the functions typically associated with first-level supervision: organize, plan, direct, control, coordinate, and supervise staff; review work; approve leave requests; review overall performance (see additional information).

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Inspector General (IG) certification/credentials within one year of employment through attendance of formal school or certification program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading Inspector General Program operations and compliance services (e.g., Hotline program, Investigations, Inspections, and External Audits/Assessments) to evaluate and develop new policies or methods for the purpose of eliminating vulnerabilities and implementing solutions for improvement.
