Duties
As a Program Support Assistant, you will:
Log in and monitor the Center's clearance of correspondence, drafts of legislation and regulations, draft handbooks and notices, and similar material circulated for review and comments.
Review all incoming correspondence, legislation, regulations and other material.
Draft correspondence on their own initiative or at the direction of the Center Director or subordinate supervisor in response to public inquiries of a general nature concerning' programs of the office or the specific activities of the Center.
Assist in providing logistical support for briefings of individuals and organizations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-07 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Experience responding to and resolving customer service inquires and performing day-to-day administrative functions.
Examples of such experience could include:
- Using office automation hardware/software for customer service & data input to produce documents; OR
- Preparing reports; OR
- Reviewing written materials for grammatical accuracy; OR
- Collecting, analyzing and reviewing information for special projects; OR
- Tracking correspondence.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-07 you must have been at the GS-06 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
