You will serve as an ELECTROPLATER SUPERVISOR I in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PSNS.

Duties

You will select and assign work to subordinates and instruct them on procedures, specifications, priorities, and schedules. You will provide technical direction and assistance to resolve problems and take necessary actions to complete work on schedule. You will give technical assistance to other shops and codes relative to maintenance and repair of both portable and fixed shop equipment. You will inspect work in progress and upon completion to maintain quality assurance, conformance to specifications, efficient work progress, housekeeping, and safe operations. You will ensure the necessary materials and equipment are available when needed. You will maintain all chemical solutions for best operating efficiency and keep office records of solution controls. You will plan, schedule and implement on-the-job training for apprentices and journeymen in the specialized skills of the unit and recommend off-station and local training where necessary to meet the skill requirements. You will recommend and help plan facilities, equipment, and procedure changes to improve safety, reduce costs, and meet new work requirements. You will investigate suggestions, prepare reports on matters concerning the unit, resolve grievances and complaints wherever possible, and initiate or recommend awards and disciplinary actions.   • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
