About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, 36TH Medical Group, Directorate of Behavioral Health, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.

Duties
Screens and interviews patients, and performs bio-psychological social evaluations, using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to psychological counseling.
Makes mental health diagnoses as appropriate in accordance with DSM-IV-TR criteria, or other, more current, accepted standards.
Provides individual and group therapy, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy.
Conducts therapy, monitors, approves, and documents all treatment planning, and provides advice for case staffing.
Provides psychological and clinical consultation to other professionals andparaprofessionals through established consultation channels.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- ALL EMPLOYESS ASSIGNED TO A MTF ARE REQUIRED TO BE SCREENED FOR APPLICABLEIMMUNIZATIONS REGARDLESS OF SERIES, BASED ON OCCUPATIONAL RISK, AND ARESUBJECT TO MISSING/REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS IAW AR 40-562, CHAPTERS 3 and 4.
- Incumbent may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying work schedules.
- Incumbent must pass a required Pre-Appointment Physical.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Saving (BLS).
- If selected, official college or university transcript must be submitted.
- Must be a credential member of the Military Training Facility (MTF).
- License/Certification: Unrestricted license as a doctoral level Psychologist. Must have a valid state license.
- This is an Inclement Weather Essential position: Incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position requires occasional TDY - 5%.
- he duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:
Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes performing behavioral health assessments; performing bio-psychosocial evaluations; providing psychological counseling and developing behavioral health treatment plans; providing guidance for cases and recommendations on treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Licensure Requirement: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
