Duties

You will perform student account maintenance and entry into Navy College Management Information System (NCMIS) Tuition Assistance (TA) database. You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintaining ledgers, compiling, and consolidating, checking, and arranging funding data. You will ensure financial entries of debits and credits are accurate and balanced between the three data processing systems of NCMIS, STARS-FL, and Invoice Receipt, Acceptance, and Property Transfer (iRAPT)/Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF). You will provide technical work in support of receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, and custody of invoice reports. You will apply administrative rules, regulations, and procedures associated with records, reporting, processing, and keeping track of budgetary transactions. You will perform customer service tasks such as receiving and resolving telephone calls and email from college/school representatives as it relates to TA students' invoice resolutions.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of financial management regulations, practices, procedure, and policies to technical work performed in support of accounting, budget, or other related financial management work; 2) Using automated systems in support of financial management work; 3) Identifying discrepancies in various accounting, budget and/or financial management support assignments; and 4) Making corrections to identified problems by applying specific rules, regulations and procedures.
