The Radiology Program Support Assistant (OA) provides clerical support for the Radiology Department and Patient Care Services. The primary purpose of this position is to improve the quality and timeliness by which outside images are imported into the patient's electronic health record and the burning of Madison Radiology CDs and film printing when required. This position is located at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Duties

Duties include but may not be limited to the following:
Performs a comprehensive range of clerical, technical, and administrative duties in support of the Radiology Department.
Acts as a liaison between the Radiology Department, facility providers and outside medical facilities.
Collects, compiles and tracks data/media information in support of the Radiology Department.
Utilizes electronic methods of data recording and processing including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point.
Builds data monitoring systems where none currently exists.
Accepts directions and demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships, flexibility and cooperation while performing duties.
Acts as a liaison or handles communication with persons and/or groups within and outside of the Radiology Department.
Demonstrates ability to serve as a responsible member of the health care team, communicates effectively with members of other services and strives to understand own behavior and its effect on others.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
AND
EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service that includes performing providing a range of clerical, technical, and administrative support duties; utilizing a variety of office software and equipment; and receiving and screening incoming telephone calls..

EDUCATION: The successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

COMBINATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-5 level. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
