This position is located in the Corporate University, Educational Support Services Section, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Washington, D.C. and provides a wide range of administrative support for various administrative program areas, such as training, time and attendance, staffing, benefits, and travel.

Duties

- Provides policy/procedural guidance and advice to CU management and staff on sensitive or complex administrative issues relating to topics such as leave, time and attendance, workers compensation claims, employee benefits, merit promotion, training, travel, incentive awards, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. For the CG-11 level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade 09 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing administrative program functions in at least THREE of the following areas: 1) preparing personnel actions; 2) developing and tracking projects; 3) using software applications creating presentations, charts, and reports; 4) drafting correspondence addressing issues concerning administrative functions; 5) coordinating with building management addressing space and facilities matters; and 6) managing purchase cards. -OR- EDUCATION:  To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related. -OR- COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level.  Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
