You will serve as a STUDENT CONTROL SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in the TRAINING SQUADRON THREE (VT3), N5 STUDENT CONTROL DEPARTMENT of TRAWING FIVE.
Duties
You will provide proper customer service etiquette to Instructor Pilots (IP) and Student Naval Aviators (SNA) in the Student Control Department.
You will perform a full range of administrative assignments that ensure all Naval Flight Training events for SMA's have been properly
documented in the Tango Sierra Hotel Aviation Readiness Program (TSHARP) and their Aviation Training Jackets (ATJ).
You will perform tasks such as: ATJ audits, student check-ins, organize flight leader briefs, update student rosters, Student Monitoring Status (SMS) entry and management, and initial and final SMS Supplemental Aviation Training Form (ATF) entries.
You will route student critique sheets, ensure student check-out sheets are completed in their entirety and returned to command student control, closeout ATJ's upon completion of syllabus, and process ATJ's for transfer to next higher echelon.
You will maintain student training records and aviation training jackets (ATJ) for the command using an extensive database.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
For the GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing a variety of administrative support duties for a training program (e.g., data input, personnel support, student rosters, student check-in/out, and monitoring training schedules/progress) by using automated systems to accurately document student or trainee progress.
For the GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Successful completion of at least 4 years above high school;
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-04:
Successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school;
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
