Duties
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Counterintelligence (CI) Officers detect, analyze, and mitigate foreign intelligence and terrorist threats affecting NGA personnel, technologies, infrastructure, and/or capabilities. They conduct CI Incident Assessments and support investigations. They research and analyze data for a variety of CI activities, including Supply Chain Risk Management assessments to determine risks associated with foreign ownership or influence affecting NGA vendors and software. CI Officers also collect information and prepare Intelligence Information Reports on foreign intelligence entities and international terrorism targeting GEOINT and DoD equities. They provide CI training and awareness and conduct a variety of briefings and debriefings. They also monitor security incidents, coordinate damage assessments, advise NGA leadership, and liaise with the Intelligence Community, Federal agencies, and law enforcement agencies.Additional Application Requirement: You may be asked to complete one or more assessments in addition to the application you submit on this website as part of your application to NGA. Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Experience conducting intelligence and threat analysis to produce/coordinate Intelligence Information Reports2. Demonstrated knowledge or experience with two of the following areas; CI Incident Assessments/Investigations, CI analysis, or CI Functional Services3. Experience with Intelligence Oversight (IO) and knowledge of applicable IO policies or procedures4. Documented experience conducting CI Collection Management for the DoD or US Intelligence Community 5. Demonstrated knowledge of Collection Management policies, procedures, and activities.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Security, Area Studies, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in security, law enforcement, counterintelligence investigations, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in security, law enforcement, counterintelligence investigations, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Successful completion of an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent Credentialing Course, the Defense Counterintelligence Agents Course (DCAC) or Service Equivalent Counterintelligence Certification Course as directed by management; Successful completion of the ITC TSCM Fundamentals Course may be required.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Successful completion of an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent Credentialing Course, the DefenseCounterintelligence Agents Course (DCAC) or Service Equivalent Counterintelligence Certification Course2. Experience coordinating with external DoD, Law Enforcement, or IC partners3. Demonstrated experience working both independently and in a team environment4. Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, and/ora related field. 5. Demonstrated understanding of NGA's mission, products, or services
