This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) for TRAC.
Duties
Manages and executes the Information Assurance program requirements.
Ensures all Information Security and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS)/Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) within the area of responsibility are properly certified and accredited in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Provides program oversight for the local area network RMF accreditation documentation to ensures applicable regulatory requirements are met.
Advises on the latest developments in hardware and software security and approved Information Assurance tools.
Reviews and evaluates system changes against Department of Defense, Army and TRAC Information Assurance configuration management, architecture, and network security standards and requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Secret security clearance.
- The position requires up to 5% business travel.
- Per AR 25-2, Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification required within one year of EOD.

IT related Experience: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience includes work that involved 1) applying information assurance program principles using assessment/scanning tools to identify network vulnerabilities and 2) evaluating IT security tools, procedures and practices to improve the protection of IT systems and network security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
