You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER in the Ordnance Operations Division of NMC CWD DET PT MUGU.

Duties

You will offload and onload ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels and other conveyances using forklifts through 20,000 lb. capacity. You will unitize, palletize packages in accordance with safety standards. You will be accountable for all ordnance materials stored within a designated facility. You will process final receipt and issue documentation updating automated systems. You will determine the detail locations within storage facilities. You will be required to work with hazardous materials such as industrial solvents of a toxic nature and paints.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Explosive's Handling certification.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
