This position is located within the Division of Nursing Service, Crow Service Unit, Crow Agency, Montana. The position will report to the Director of Nursing or designee.
This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.

Duties
Maintain ultimate responsibility and accountability as Supervisor; delegate, assign, review and evaluate the activity and performance of the assigned nursing staff/unit.
Promote personal and professional staff development and growth that advance staff competency to ensure quality patient outcomes and patient safety.
Participate in organizational improvement activities; assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Nursing Program. Ensure the provision of safe, individualized, age appropriate delivery of patient care, treatment or services.
Implement and participate in performance improvement program and activities that improve patient outcomes, promote patient safety and risk management.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools
Licensure
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Experience
The work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. At the GS-9 and above grade level, many positions may require experience in a specialty area of nursing.
Basic Requirements for the GS-11 (or equivalent) Grade Level In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field; or
- At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Example of specialized experience: Plan, evaluate, and direct patient care by providing leadership in maintaining the function of the OB unit. Maintain current knowledge of accreditation standards of nursing practice. Manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment for the OB department. Promote a positive work environment by facilitating team work among nursing staff, health care providers, support staff, and personnel of other departments. Develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients based on the nursing process. Provide nursing interventions based on established plan of care and evaluate effectiveness. Set up and operate specialized equipment. Document nursing activities regarding direct patient care, quality improvement, infection control, assignments, etc.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
