About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Network West under the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The position requires a wide, general knowledge and application of the DoD healthcare supply chain enterprise and the facility planning, programming, utilization, renovation, Joint occupancy, design, and construction processes of aligned medical treatment facilities (MTFs).
Duties
Assure the coordination and application of sound health care design principles based upon lessons learned, criteria and evidence, promoting a common goal to design and build world-class health care facilities.
Attend planning and programming meetings, site visits, planning charrettes and user interviews to successfully provide master plans to bridge medical capability gaps or prepare capital investment proposals
Perform a wide range of broad and difficult analytical studies, policy formulation, and projects related to facility and medical supply chain operations.
Conduct risk assessments and tracks the plan of action for mitigating vulnerabilities and corrective actions.
Track stakeholder interest, recognizes and responds to trends in healthcare planning and design.
Participate in the new-planning, renovation, and/or Joint occupancy by another Federal agency in healthcare space planning, design and construction criteria and guide plate development and updates with DHA HQ.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with developing readiness plans in response to emergencies or disasters; coordinating facility projects performed in-house or by contract in a medical facility; and analyzing data to improve facility management operations in a healthcare setting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
