Duties
Determines unit goals which are the foundation for long and short-range planning and execution of all unit programs and provides focus for all unit functions and activities.
Responsible for the formulation, presentation, justification, and execution of an allocated multi-million-dollar budget involving several major force elements and state funds.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Ensures adequate messing facilities and provides meals as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional, or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation system. The following shows the amount of education and/or experience required to qualify for this positions. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. 36 months experience at the next lower grade. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Specialized experience includes analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
