The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor work of 773 CES.

- The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for the position
- May occasionally be required to work overtime or holidays on short notice
- Work requires some standing, walking, climbing, and lifting
- Employee must have or be able to obtain security clearances required
- Employee may be required to travel aboard military or civilian aircraft to attend training at locations other than the local community
- Work requires inside and outside work. Incumbent will be exposed to arctic weather extremes, high noise levels, dust, fumes, confined space, etc., while working and inspecting work sites
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
- Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
- Area of consideration is limited to employees assigned to the 773 CES/CEOIH on Elmendorf AFB
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5300 Industrial Equipment Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.
2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and /or test equipment common to trades supervised.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications.
5. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
