Duties

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  The incumbents responsibility, first and foremost, is to lead by example, to shape and sustain a working environment most conducive to the successful performance of those entrusted to his/her leadership and direction; creating a positive atmosphere and culture within the Marine & Family Programs Division and its constituent branches that reflects the pride, professionalism, sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, collaborative engagement, well-being, and wholehearted customer focus of its employees is the incumbents essential purpose and focus of main effort.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Five years experience that demonstrates executive management and leadership skills at a level to effectively assist in planning and coordinating Marine & Family Programs operations.  Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in related field leading to a Bachelors degree, from an accredited college or university is required.  Skills to manage rapidly expanding programs. Ability to resolve or negotiate a variety of sensitive problem situations. Ability to effectively communicate and deal effectively with senior military and civilian officials.  A thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends and make improvements.  Knowledge of budgetary principles to include preparation, execution and the ability to analyze trends and initiate appropriate actions.  Knowledge of military life and the resulting issues affecting military families and their lifestyles. ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS1.  Describe your experience and knowledge that demonstrates the skillsets needed to serve as the MFP Deputy Director and as a recognized expert to independently oversee day-to-day operations of an ongoing multi-faceted program with significant difficulty and responsibility that encompasses: mission, function, operation, activity, laws, rules and regulations.  2. Describe your experience in all the following: Naval Correspondence, developing professional presentations, and briefing senior level officials. 3. Describe your experience of successfully overseeing multiple daily objectives as well as various projects concurrently.4. Describe your experience interpreting policy, tracking budgets and expenditures, and strategic planning.
