About the Position: Serves as a staff advisor exercising program oversight for several environmental programs and activities in assigned areas throughout Army Material Command located in Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Serves as a senior environmental advisor and technical authority for the Command. Responsible for conservation of natural and cultural resources, environmental compliance, land use, pest management, and other environmental programs. Provides program oversight and administrative control of these programs for the Department of the Army. Implements the requirements established by public laws, Executive Orders, and DoD directives for protecting and enhancing the quality of the environment. Monitors projects to determine the progress and the status of compliance with proposed completion dates.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Temporary Duty travel is required 30% of the time.
  • May be required to complete a one year probationary period.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Environmental Policy and Strategy DevelopmentEnvironmental Project and Program ManagementEnvironmental Stewardship and Advocacy Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
