About the Position: This is for a PERMANENT position at Fort Jackson, SC. Serves as Instructor/Operator for all Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS)in the Fort Jackson Training Support Center (TSC) Area of Responsibility.

Duties

Serve as Instructor/Operator for all Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) in the Fort Jackson Training Support Center (TSC) Area of Responsibility. Establish recurring “train-the-trainer” classes and communicate with Command Teams to ensure widespread dissemination of training events. Develop and update lesson plans to ensure customers receive proper TADSS training and certification. Conduct training using knowledge systems such as training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations. Research data from a variety of sources to provide information on doctrine and utilization strategy to applicable trainers.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes . 1.) Providing instruction, training, and operator maintenance applications on the TRADOC recognized/approved Training Aids, Simulators, and Simulations. 2.) Reviewing, revising, and writing doctrinal publications and TRADOC standard subject lesson material for correctness and accuracy and working as a Training Instructor in the occupation field or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that requires training or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, adult education, etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program AdministrationInstructional Delivery and Learner DevelopmentManages and Organizes InformationTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
