THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC TITLE 32 PERMANENT, Position Description Number NGD2240P01and is part of the NH 157th Maintenance Group, National Guard. This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems.

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 INDEFINITE excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E3 to E6 Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position. Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade. Compatible Military Assignments: 2A9X4 (Must possess a 3-level in the 2A9X4 AFSC) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (WG-12) - Must have at least a three-skill level in one of the compatible AFSCs, with 12 months of work experiences, that involved duties such as, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (WG-13) - Must have at least a three-skill level in one of the compatible AFSCs, with 12 months of work experiences. Experiences involved duties such as, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. Knowledgeable of stations that are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable and pods. Skilled in analyzing performance results, running tests, inspecting, troubleshooting, identifying and isolating malfunctions. NOTE: This is an upward mobility position. The full performance level (FPL) is a WG-13. If not already qualified at the FPL, the selected candidate may be eligible for upward mobility to WG-13 after successful completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Coordination with Human Resource Development (HRD) by Supervisor, at the time of hire, is mandatory to begin training plan and meeting all requirements set forth by HRD before the appointment is upgraded.
