Duties
In this position as a Commercial Fishing Vessel Examiner, you will examin services, technical expertise, advanced training, and project leadership in the enforcement of marine safety, pollution prevention, security, and vessel manning laws, regulations, treaties, and applicable internation conventions.

Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-11 grade level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
A combination of successfully completed graduate-level education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.

Specialized experience must include the following:
Planning, scheduling, and conducting on site examinations of commercial fishing industry vessels for compliance with all applicable federal regulations;
Working with Federal, state, and local agencies, and fishing industry to promote commercial fishing industry safety;
Providing advanced training in the enforcement of marine safety, pollution prevention, vessel manning laws, regulations, treaties and international conventions.
