Duties
You will perform direct and general support maintenance on a variety of electrical and combustion-powered material handling equipment such as
warehouse forklift equipment and small electrically powered equipment such as scooters or carts.
You will repair electric forklift equipment by removing defective drive and hydraulic system motors.
You will overhaul and repair combustion powered forklift equipment by installing short block assemblies and making necessary valve replacement or
refinishing, replacing valve springs and rocker arms, etc.
You will perform receiving inspections on equipment to determine the extent of repairs necessary.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will frequently lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Perform the Duties of the Position without More than Normal Supervision. Sample work includes: REPAIR ELECTRIC FORK LIFT EQUIPMENT, REPAIR HYDRAULIC SYSTEM MOTORS AND INSPECT FOR DEFECTIE BEARINGS. ALBE TO REPLACE BEARINGS, DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS ON MULTIPLE SWITCH ASSEMBLIES. REPAIRS HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEMS, ELECTRICALLY PROPELLED SCOOTERS. OVERHUALS AND REPAIRS COMBUSTION POWERED FORKLIFT EQUIPMENT BY INSTALLING SHORT BLOCK ASSEMBLIES AND MAKING VALVE REPLACEMENTS OR REFINISHING, REPLACEING VALVE SPRINGS AND ROCKER ARMS.
