The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 911 CS/SCX.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 911 CS/SCX, ensuring that C&I complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the 911th Communication Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Serves as contracting officer representative.
Performs as a senior technical advisor to functional users.

- Information Assurance (IA) certification is a condition of employment. This position includes IA work as a paramount duty requirement.
- Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
- A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
- A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
- This position is ineligible for bargaining member status (2539) and will be coded (8888) under 8888 5 USC 7103 (a)(10).
- This position is "Exempt" under 5 CFR 551.205 of the FLSA Executive Exemption Criteria.

Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes applying a wide range of IT principles and system analysis concepts and techniques, new and emerging information technologies, and security methods and principles. Application of customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to analyze requirements, develop acquisition strategies, and implement systems enhancements. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances, to apply internet technologies to analyze networks and the related security aspects and predict how management can meet future requirements.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles and systems analysis concepts and techniques, new and emerging information technologies, and security methods and principles
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organizes, and directs the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to analyze requirements, develop acquisition strategies, and implement systems enhancements.
Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances, to apply internet technologies to analyze networks and the related security aspects and predict how management can meet future requirements.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
