The DOJ OIG is seeking an experienced, highly motivated individual to serve as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General in the OIG's Audit Division. The ideal candidate will possess significant leadership experience in federal government oversight and managing audit operations involving diverse and complex programs and operations. This position is located in Washington, DC

The Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Audit (DAIGA) serves as a Senior Executive Service member on the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Inspector General (OIG) senior leadership team and reports directly to the Assistant Inspector General for Audit (AIGA). The DAIGA provides executive leadership direction for the full range of audit activities and supervision for over 200 auditors, program analysts, IT specialists, and other personnel located in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.

- Obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Incumbent will be subject to initial and random drug testing.
- Annual financial disclosure statement, SF-278 required.
- Selective Service Registration is required, as applicable.
- Initial SES Career Appointee is subject to a one-year SES Probationary Period unless you previously completed the probationary period in the SES.
- You must submit the Mandatory Technical Qualifications and the Executive Core Qualifications narratives (unless you are an SES) to be considered for the position.
Qualifications
This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES). As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively responsible leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive-level management capability. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-14 or GS-15 grade levels in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector.
To meet the minimum qualification requirements for this position, applicants must demonstrate in resume and narrative statements possession of the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and the Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs) listed below. It is recommended that your resume emphasize levels of responsibility, scope and complexity of programs managed, and program accomplishments, and results.

Applicants must submit written narratives to each MTQ and ECQ, and should limit narrative statements to one (1) page per MTQ and two (2) pages per ECQ. Applicants who upload the same narrative for each MTQ or ECQ, use "see resume" as a response, or whose narratives extend beyond the required page limits, limit their chance for further consideration. Failure to meet or fully address each MTQ will eliminate a candidate from further consideration.
Mandatory Technical Qualification(s) - Mandatory
Demonstrated and substantial senior level experience in the formulation, management, and administration of diverse audit and oversight operations overseeing government programs, financial management activities, and procurement.
Demonstrated record of accomplishment leading the administration of audit programs and quality assurance practices that ensure compliance with Government Auditing Standards and agency policy, in applying proficient skills in drafting, reviewing, and editing work products to ensure results are accurate, clearly stated, and effect improved government operations.
Demonstrated senior level experience in a government oversight function effectively supervising subordinate managers and a diverse workforce conducting audits, programmatic reviews, evaluations, inspections, or other reviews and analyses of a large government organization's internal and external activities.

ECQ 5 - BUILDING COALITIONS: This core qualification involves the ability to build coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies, State and local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals.

NOTE: ECQ narratives are required for all applicants unless any of the following conditions are met:
You are currently serving under a career Senior Executive Service (SES) appointment. (Please Note: Department of Defense DISESs and DISLs, and Intelligence Community SES are typically not OPM QRB certified and are therefore required to submit ECQs.)
You are eligible for reinstatement into the SES.
You have successfully completed an OPM approved SES Candidate Development Program.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
