About the position: This position is located at the Outdoor Recreation Program within the Force Support Squadron. The primary function of the position is to effectively manage and operate the Family Campground (FamCamp) and Recreational Vehicle (RV) Storage Lot. This position is a regular, full-time position with a full benefits package.

Duties

Assists the Outdoor Recreation Manager in management of daily operations and maintenance of all recreational facilities and areas under the Outdoor Recreation Program. Serves as site manager of the FamCamp Recreation Facility and the RV Storage Program. Performs supervisory duties which include assigning work, defining priorities, evaluating performance, initiating corrective actions, and recommending formal corrective/disciplinary actions as warranted. Leads and performs check-in and check-out actions for equipment and facility usage. Transports patrons off-base to local attractions for trips, tours and outings. Responsible for planning, coordinating, publicizing, marketing and execution of programs and special events within the Community Recreation program by utilizing all available resources. Provides administrative duties and support through after-action reports, data collection and database administration. All administrative duties are completed through a variety of sources including computer software which tracks patron's usage and responses (includes providing information for metrics and patron counts). Routinely evaluates and reviews ongoing programs and provides assigned staff with guidance that may develop, adapt, modify, expand, or otherwise change the program to better meet and enhance the customer experience. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • The position requires the satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical.
  • This position is a Drug Testing designated position. A pre-employment screening is required and incumbent must possess a valid drivers license.
  • This position requires shift work that may include weekends, nights and holiday

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: High school diploma required; college Associates degree or higher desired. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must be computer proficient in standard office software. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group and managers, customers, and general public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Experience which has provided a general familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in outdoor recreation programs.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
