Duties
Selectee will work 25 pay periods on a full-time schedule, including being on pay status December through October and is expected to work most federal holidays from Presidents Day thru Labor Day. The selectee will be in a non-pay status for pay period 24 (the pay period which includes Veterans Day). Selectee are guaranteed to work at least 6 months but not more than 50 weeks per year.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Plan, design, develop, and improve interpretive and educational materials, including waysides, signs, publications, and digital media.
Assist with the coordination and instruction of education programs, group reservations, and park outreach.
Operate the park visitor center, track park statistics, and ensure visitor safety.
Develop and present formal and informal interpretive and educational programming to a variety of age groups on park resources. Assist interpretive training and coaching for staff, interns, and volunteers.
Provide administrative and seasonal lead support to the visitor services program, including reporting and data collection, event coordination, scheduling, and marketing.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/23/2025-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs Fee collecting duties and experience collecting and accounting for monies is required. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.

To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes but is not limited to providing visitor contact services that includes providing information on a wide variety of public inquiries (visitors, businesses, government officials; compose written replies; maintenance of inventories, stock, property); providing formal and informal interpretation of park resources for visitors; providing visual information services by developing informational and interpretive signs, flyers, and handouts and assisting and supporting content maintenance and development of web pages and social media sites; providing administrative services and program support (use of computer software to perform a variety of work; draft letters, memos, reports and data collection; developing press releases (park events); and assisting with the coordination and execution of education programs and teacher professional development workshops. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
