This position is located in the Northern Region, Region 1, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, Palouse Ranger District with a duty location of Potlatch, ID.
Incumbent serves as the administrative technical liaison between the Ranger District and Forest Supervisor's Office.

Duties
Duties listed are at the full performance GS-07 grade.
Serves as the primary administrative business process point of contact for the District.
Responsible for the administrative oversight of various business processes.
Areas of responsibility may include financial planning/budget support, purchasing, supply management, facility/property accounting and maintenance contracts, paycheck and time accounting, data processing and files management.
May serve on special committees or special projects in either a lead or supporting role.
Disseminates administrative information to employees and serves as a liaison for administrative support that is provided by other units (e.g., Forest, Regional Offices).
Maintains awareness of and communicates applicable laws, regulations, directives, and policies to unit personnel for administrative work.
Assists in developing and implementing solutions for administrative problems within the unit and the larger administrative program.
Works with local staff to process and document procurement requests for field and office supplies and equipment.
Answers questions on established policy or routine matters.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-06: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing ONE (1) or more of the following duties:
Provide support and assistance processing a wide variety of requisitions;
Reconcile purchases and maintain files in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives;
Process incoming and outgoing mail;
Establish and maintain the unit's files, accountable property inventories, records, etc. (hardcopy and/or electronic format);
Use automated software to produce reports, correspondence and other written documents in draft form.
OR
One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education directly related to the work of the position (Business Administration);
OR
Combinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience.
For the GS-07: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing TWO (2) or more of the following duties:
Carry out new systems or administrative processes to meet unit needs;
Receive and review all formal ingoing/outgoing correspondence for proper format, grammar, punctuation, etc.;
Use automated databases and software to produce reports and record information;
Establish and maintain manual and electronic records and filing systems;
Produce written documentation, reports, memos, etc., in final format.
OR
One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education directly related to the work of the position (Business Administration);
OR
Combinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Work Experience: Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month and year the work assignment started and ended; the hours worked per week; position title, and series and grade if applicable; and description of duties performed. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
