This position is located in the Safety and Occupational Health Division. The incumbent works under the administrative supervision of the Safety and Occupational Health Manager and provides occupational health nursing at the United States Mint in Philadelphia, PA.
Duties
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will:
Provide occupational health nursing services in an industrial clinic environment and manages the confidential medical records and other documentation associated with these duties.
Conduct pre-employment and periodic medical screening tests such as hearing and vision tests. Initiates medical history questionnaires and required medical forms for pre-placement, periodic exams, fitness for duty, and exit and return to work exams.
Participate in Worker's Compensation claim management by attending monthly teleconferences with claims representatives and Mint management.

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. LICENSURE: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Overseeing physician/nursing care plans; AND
-Reviewing and making recommendations for improvement to quality of overall nursing care; AND
- Possession of a diploma, associates degree, bachelors degree, or masters degree from a professional nursing educational program.
OR
Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11 you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks.

EDUCATION: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelors degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
