Qualifications
What are we looking for?Knowledge of and skill in using accepted carpenter trade methods and techniques; ability to develop and apply individual specifications for projects; interpret and develop dimensions, plans and patterns based on user's needs and requests; complete understanding of shop mathematics to plan and compute complex and exact specifications with features such as arcs, tangents and circles; ability to set up, adjust and adapt hand and power tools to accomplish tasks such as cutting bevels, rabbets, chamfers, dados, grooves, and miter points; laminating and bending; and fine surfacing of materials; ability to read, interpret and apply building plans, specifications, blueprints, sketches and building codes; knowledge of the strength, appearance and cost of a variety of softwoods, hardwoods, ply woods, veneers and wood substitutes. Must possess or be able to obtain applicable government operator permits. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.Works from plans, blueprints, and oral instructions; interprets and develops dimensions, plans and patterns for projects based on user's needs and requests; determines kind and type of materials and tools which will be needed, using his own initiative.
