This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Collaborates with a licensed clinical social worker in developing recommended treatment plans and provides case management services to include ensuring that treatment plan approved treatment plan is carried out by the client.

Duties

Maintains close coordination with Soldier's unit and monitors treatment participation and progress with designated treatment providers. Interviews clients to provide information about the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and the incident determination process. Reviews Family Advocacy System of Records (FASOR) to determine whether there are previously recorded cases of child and/or spouse/intimate partner cases. Reports all suspected child abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse allegations to Child Protective Services (CPS) and appropriate military and/or civilian law enforcement agencies. Provides psycho-educational treatment classes and co-facilitates clinical group treatment with assigned licensed clinical social workers. Participates in in-service training programs and attends professional and staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • All employees assigned to an MTF are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series.
  • A Criminal History Background Check (CHBC) is required. Employee must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a CHBC as a condition of employment.
  • This position requires an initial Childcare background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on are gular and recurring basis.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) processing referrals of alleged domestic abuse; 2) providing resources or referrals to abuse victims; and 3) maintaining case records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Child and Family Welfare, Counseling, Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, Human Development, Sociology and Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
