This position is located on the Forest Service Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Ogden, UT. The incumbent is responsible for performing duties as a Training Leader for the Culinary Arts skills training program. The incumbent must spend at least 85% of the time leading subordinates. Duties

The incumbent instructs and demonstrates basic and advanced cooking processes. On a regular and recurring basis leads 3 or more advanced cooking students in the performance of on and off site related projects. In coordination with the Work Programs Officer and/or Assistant WPO, the incumbent implements a flexible classroom and on-the-job training instruction program. Incumbent works with supervisor to develop lesson plans, obtaining textbooks and educational materials for use in the classroom, conducting the sessions, evaluating the students’ progress and advising and counseling individual enrollees. The incumbent provides vocational, education, and personal counseling as related to practical, on-the-job experience and monitors each student’s progress and handles or reports any issues or concerns that may arise to the appropriate authority.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

  • Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
