This position is located on the Flathead National Forest, Swan Lake Ranger District, Bigfork, Montana. The maintenance worker performs a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of all buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures, and utilities on the Forest. Duties

Perform a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of all buildings and related structures, fixtures, and utilities on the District. Conduct repairs and maintains living quarters, Fire, Administrative and other facilities. Install barriers, simple small bridges, doors; build staircases; build forms and pour concrete. Troubleshoot electrical problems that occur. Replace circuit breakers and light fixtures. Add additional receptacles and switches. Repair electric water heater elements, run thin wall conduit, rigid conduit, PVC, and romex wiring. Repair waterlines, install toilets and lavatory fixtures, install electric and propane water heaters, repair and snake sewer lines. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.
