About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6A6AA US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD US Army Intelligence and Security CMD, Security Resiliency Activity, ACOFS G-2.

Duties

Serve as a Senior Security Specialist in the Army Research and Technology Protection Center (ARTPC), supporting the Army’s acquisition enterprise efforts to ensure technologies are delivered uncompromised. Providing expert advice and recommendations on policy issues affecting information security, industrial security, personnel security, and physical security with emphasis on integrating complex countermeasures. Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to staff across ARTPC, for topics surrounding multi discipline security and acquisition programs. Execute organizational goals and objectives, and recommend modifications to develop new methods, criteria, or proposed new policies in support of Army wide program protection.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as 1) applying extensive knowledge of multi-disciplinary security principles and techniques; 2) leading and coordinating programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with security requirements; AND 3) providing oversight for information protection across various organizational levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
