The purpose of the position is to provide for the upkeep and cleanliness of all treatment center facilities (including offices, bathrooms, dining room, counseling rooms, recreation rooms, classrooms, grounds, etc.), as well as the provision to provide general maintenance to the facility when required. Position may require working evenings, nights, weekends, holidays; or on a regularly assigned, rotational, or call back basis to provide continuity of service. Position reports to Facility Manager.
Duties
Perform a full range of cleaning duties in assigned/designated areas.
Scrub, strip, wax and polish floors. Keep rest rooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition.
Keep instrument shops, offices and public use areas clean and orderly.
Perform laundry services as needed for facility.
Store stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work.
Move heavy boxes crates, furniture, or other obstacles in order to clean area.
Occasionally carry, set up, and work from ladders to clean and repair fixtures and/or walls.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this position you must meet the following screen-out element:
Ability to do the work without more than normal supervision.
You may meet this requirement if you have experience and/or training to perform routine janitorial and custodial work such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; washing windows and walls; dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture and fixtures; cleaning and disinfecting lavatories, water fountains, and other public use areas; and emptying waste cans. Work is done by hand or with powered equipment such as power scrubbers and buffers.
This screen-out element is a critical self-assessment of the applicant's experience and is essential for satisfactory job performance.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
