About the Position: As a Maintenance Worker/Maintenance Mechanic you will be performing work in a variety of trades for a substantial amount of time in the carpentry, plumbing, painting and basic electrical trades. This opportunity will also involve maintenance and modifications to buildings, grounds, and recreational facilities in park type settings.

Duties

Performs a variety of maintenance tasks at multiple project operations and recreation areas to include carpentry, plumbing, painting, concrete/masonry, and minor electrical repairs. Works from plans, blueprints, and sketches to lay out and install plumbing or sewer systems using various piping including PVC, copper, and galvanized steel. Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing water and sewage systems, toilets, sinks, and showers. Perform maintenance and make repairs to various mechanical equipment including tractors, trailers, blowers, pumps, and log splitters. Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools to construct, modify, or repair various wood structures such as building framework, doors, windows, trim, and signs. Routinely operates skid steer, backhoe, or tractor to mow/underbrush and repair water/sewer lines, boat ramps, walkways, campsites, and other recreation facilities.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment and the ability to maintain the license for the duration of employment.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position may require work on some weekends and holidays.
