This position is located in the Branch of Medical Services, Division of Clinical Services, Fort Peck Service Unit, Poplar, Montana. This position reports to the Clinical Director.
Duties
Ensures new employee orientation is completed within the required time frame for all medical staff, temporary employees within the medical staff and all medical staff contractors, assists in management of Quality Improvement (QI) and Performance Improvement (PI) projects for the medical staff.
Coordinates annual recruitment of providers, residents, and medical students (i.e., updating and sending recruitment letters, maintaining files and follow-up letters for recruits/students and assists in making site visit and/or interview arrangements).
Maintains files, records and calendar follow up system for providers concerning logs, inventory files and competency files with all continuing medical education (CME) attendance records, correspondence, recruiting actions, etc., and ensures that responses are prepared within the required time frame.
Arranges meetings, reserves meeting rooms, notifies participants and prepares agenda from notes or verbal Instructions, takes notes and summarizes major points of meetings; receives telephone calls and utilizes knowledge of the organization, programs, operations and procedures to make proper disposition of Inquiries.
Completes time and attendance tracking including any overtime/comp time for clinical staff.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5
GS-7: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-6
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-6: Initiate and process applications for medical staff membership, initiate background research on all applicants. Coordinate and provide assistance regarding recruitment and appointment documents. Manage a variety of reports and data to include appropriate tracking systems.
GS-7: Process applications and background information for medical staff personnel ensuring compliance with healthcare policy and practices. Maintain files, records, recruiting actions, and correspondence for providers. Experience in quality or performance improvement and human resource program procedures and operations.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
